Howdy Strangers!

My goodness! Where does the time go? I sit at the computer with every intention of posting a blog and get sucked into a new facebook game (if you play Castleville, add me as a neighbour won't you?)! Terrible! It's not like I don't have enough to do! Hahaha! I have a lot to blog about too! First I have a funny story to tell you that goes along with the theme for the day!

Last week sometime I went to pick X up from school. (Don't ask what day, they just blend together now.) I was standing out in the courtyard freezing my earlobes off waiting for my slow, social butterfly of a son, and two ladies were standing near me, talking. I was not listening in. I promise. But they were standing close to me and talking...and I was staring at a wall, not talking. So I heard some of what was being said. What they were saying is not important. Something about a zipper. But when I was standing there not listening, I thought to myself that the one girl sounded SO much like a friend from junior high! Wouldn't that be funny? Then the other girl said her name and it was the same name as my junior high friend. What are the chances right? I didn't want to ask because I would obviously look like a total fool in front of two strangers. That would not be cool. But then the second girl went into the school. So I took my chance. Looking like a total fool in front of one stranger is not so bad.

So I asked this stranger if I could ask her a totally random question. Then I asked if she had ever had the same name as my friend from grade 8. (side note, we did a lot of moving around during my junior high years, so I had 3 different junior high schools) She in turn asked me how I knew her maiden name. Yep. Totally happened. She was the person I went to school with (quick terrifying math here) 20 years ago. (Seriously, can that be right?) She asked if we went to school together back in N.S. and I confirmed her theory and told her my maiden name. At that point we're sort of screaming at each other in disbelief. Turns out not only do our sons go to the same school, they are in the same grade, although in different classes, and we live on the same street!

My husband of course thinks I'm a ridiculous freak recognizing some one's voice from 20 years ago. But that's just how I roll! :)

I promise to try my best not to leave it so long between posts again! :)
